How to convert TS to MP4 without re-encoding

Repackage compatible H.264 and AAC tracks from an MPEG-TS file into MP4 locally.

What the tool changes

The tool changes the container and copies compatible tracks. It does not improve quality or convert an incompatible codec. H.264 video and AAC audio are the most reliable combination.

Convert a TS file

  1. Choose a file with the .ts extension.
  2. Review the local-processing and size notices.
  3. Start conversion and keep the tab open.
  4. Download the generated MP4.

Common problems

  • Damaged or incomplete TS input cannot be repaired reliably.
  • Unusual codecs may not be supported by MP4.
  • Large files may exceed browser memory before the displayed file-size limit.
